The Biomechanics Laboratory of the Legacy Clinical Research & Technology Center is seeking candidates for the 2nd pracitcal training semseter (FH), masters and diploma thesis in the field of orthopaedic biomechanics. The Legacy Biomechanics Laboratory is part of a 65,000 sqft interdisciplinary research facility, located in Portland, Oregon, USA. Biomedical engineers work side-by-side with orthopaedic surgeons to develop engineering solution to clinical problems. The Legacy Biomechanics Laboratory conducts studies in the area of 1) Basic research (e.g. Fracture healing, Tissue engineering); 2) Applied research (e.g. development of implants for fracture fixation), and 3) Collaboration with medical device manufacturers for product testing. Each study is conducted in an interdisciplinary team of engineers, surgeons and students / trainees. Students can participate in weekly clinical and research meeting. After participating in industry collaborations, many of our former students have advanced to obtain positions with leading medical device manufacturers in the USA and Europe.

Anforderungen:
Mechanical, biomechanical or medical technology students seeking second practical internships or diploma-thesis positions in bioengineering or similar field with strong interest in orthopaedic biomechanics; candidates with practical experience, such as apprenticeships preferred.
