Digital Marketing Intern

A day in the life. 

The Marsh & McLennan Insurance Agency LLC Digital Marketing Intern program is designed to prepare individuals to progress, builds the skills and knowledge needed to grow into a Marketing & Communications position while being provided the opportunity to assist the team in various tasks and projects.

Throughout the internship, the Digital Marketing Intern will build knowledge needed to successfully obtain a position in the future. The Digital Marketing Intern will have the opportunity to learn about websites, social media, search engine optimization, paid advertising and video marketing. Marketing & Communications Interns work in a variety of situations, at times working as members of a team and other times working alone on an assignment. Interns are under close supervision and performance is monitored to determine qualification for advancement as opportunities arise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Aid in the creation of content such as videos for social media, QR codes, and web pages. 
• Author and update website content. Create web pages such as event pages, blogs, landing pages and news articles. Maintain Canadian version of the site. Update content, add new components and assist with testing. 
• Maintain video platforms including YouTube, Vimeo, and Qumu. Participates in uploading videos, organizing content, creating best practices for each platform and optimizing video engagement. 
• Compile keyword research for search engine optimization and paid advertising and builds ad audiences. 
• Coordinate with regional colleagues for Google My Business updates and maintenance. 
• Follow trends and developments on social media and presents findings to Digital Marketing team. Identifies, investigates, and analyzes possible new content opportunities, trends, hashtags and emerging social media platforms. 
• Research ad platforms best practices, new ad features within current platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn, Google, etc. and new to MMA ad platforms. 
• Assist in analyzing competitor performance on a periodic basis for multiple marketing channels. 
• Screen and analyze website for various technical SEO checks and aids in toxic backlink clean up. 
• Obtain individual channel metrics and support analysis. 

Education and Experience: 

• Undergraduate within 1-2 years of graduation, working towards a bachelor’s degree preferably in a business or marketing related field of study, and with a competitive academic standing. 
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal skills to establish rapport with internal associates and any prospective or existing clients.
• Results oriented with demonstrated skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. 
• Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and present results neatly, with clarity and precision.
• Ability to work semi-autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
