Business Development Intern (m/f/x)
Made of Air is a climate-focused materials company that transforms waste biomass into high-value, carbon-negative fillers that can decarbonize industrial materials.
Composed of carbon sequestered from the atmosphere, our fillers permanently remove CO2 and can be used in numerous building and consumer product applications. Storing carbon in products enables manufactured goods to become an engineered carbon sink. Made of Air’s technology is uniquely positioned to meet surging demand for high-performing, sustainable materials - an essential step for meeting climate goals.
We are an award-winning start up that pushes the boundaries of materials and production, helping to build economies that actively reverse climate change. This is a high-growth, dynamic environment with a diverse and highly motivated team of innovators, scientists, and business visionaries.
Join our mission-driven team as a Business Development Intern and contribute to producing carbon-negative materials to turn the built environment into a carbon sink. In this role, you'll support core commercial activities while gaining first-hand exposure to a fast-paced, purpose-driven startup. If you're curious, driven, and passionate about climate innovation, this internship is your chance to make a meaningful impact.
Your MissionSupport our go-to-market strategy
You’ll assist in executing our commercial strategy—from identifying customer segments to tracking competitive dynamics. Your analytical mindset will help uncover valuable market insights that inform decision-making.
Conduct targeted outreach and engage with customers
Be a key part of our external communications. You’ll help identify and reach out to prospective partners and customers, participate in early conversations, and help shape how we position ourselves in the market.
Contribute to market and industry research
Dive deep into trends in materials, climate tech, and the built environment. You’ll gather and analyze data on industry developments, sustainability targets, and evolving customer needs—fueling our innovation and relevance.
Collaborate across teams
Work closely with our research, product, and leadership teams to align our business goals with our technical roadmap.
- You enjoy breaking down complex problems and finding the patterns that drive smart decisions.
- You sweat the small stuff—because you know that’s where the magic (and the mistakes) often hide.
- You enjoy engaging with people and have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- You're curious about climate innovation, sustainable materials, and how business strategy drives impact.
- You're always ready to dive in and roll up your sleeves, and thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment where everyday brings its own unique experiences. You're eager to tackle a range of tasks, big or small. You're up for any challenge that comes your way!
- You've got a professional working proficiency in English, and if you've got German language skills too, that's a bonus.
- A background in material science or a related STEM field is a plus, along with a strong interest in sustainability and climate-focused innovation.
- Currently based in Berlin or willing to relocate.
- Above all, you wholeheartedly believe in the mission of our organization.
