42 Wolfsburg is a higher education NGO/start-up educating up to 600 students to become cutting-edge techies and software engineers in a practice-based peer-learning environment. 42 Wolfsburg is based on the internationally successful concept of Ecole 42 which was founded 2013 in Paris and today trains 18‘000+ students in 54 schools all over the world. At 42 Wolfsburg we set out to educate the next generation of European software engineers to build the digital infrastructure of our societies – this means meaningful work, excellent career opportunities and lots of responsibility.

Tasks

As the Tech Intern at 42 Wolfsburg, you will learn how to support the maintenance and improvements of the 42 IT infrastructure. In collaboration with the Tech Lead, you will work on:

• Deployment of new software and updates
• Process optimization and automation, e.g. with Python and Ansible
• Support and maintenance of event and meeting room tech
• Learning about IT networks and security and implementing best practices
• Learning to coach students and staff to solve their technical problems by introducing them to IT best practices
• Based on need, support for the pedagogy team with the 42 tools: exams, intra, norminette, moulinette etc.

• Right to live and work in Germany/Wolfsburg
• Experience with Linux operating systems, preferably Ubuntu
• Basic knowledge of networking
• Experience with basic scripting (e.g, bash, Python) and automation tools like Ansible
• Experience with or interest in virtualization platforms, e.g. Proxmox, VMware
• Familiar with the 42 pedagogy, having completed the 42 common core
• Experience with the 42 API is a plus
• Solid English skills (oral and written) to serve as a contact point for students and staff, German and/or other languages are appreciated.
• Interest in helping people and solving everyday problems
• Empathetic and sympathetic character with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset to serve our students in the best possible way
