We are looking for a passionate HR Intern or Working Student to join our HR team. You will be the point of contact for our Europe-based employees. As a member of our HR team, you will leverage data to help drive business decisions and have a passion for building an inclusive company culture.
The position will be based in our Cologne, Germany office, but will support operations in our other European offices.
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Intern or Working Student to support our HR operations and employee care initiatives in the Europe region. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various HR functions, including employee onboarding and offboarding, records management, and talent management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HR Operations Management
- Employee Onboarding and Offboarding:
- Coordinate employee entry and exit processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Prepare and provide necessary documents (e.g., onboarding materials, termination certificates).
- Employee Records Management:
- Maintain and update personnel records for employees in the Europe region.
- Ensure accurate and timely data management in compliance with local laws.
- Document Support:
- Handle various documents requested by employees or local authorities, including:
- Visa support.
- Work invitations.
- Termination certificates.
- Manage document exchanges with local suppliers, institutions, and authorities, ensuring timely submission and compliance.
- Leave Management:
- Process leave applications, approvals, and records.
- Manage leave balances, holiday transfers, and statutory leave (e.g., annual leave, sick leave, maternity leave).
- Ensure the leave management system integrates with payroll and attendance systems, in compliance with internal policies and local labor laws.
2. Employee Care and Support
- Organize various employee care initiatives to enhance engagement and satisfaction (e.g., health benefits, holiday celebrations).
- Support employee queries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
3. Talent Management
- Collaborate with the HR team to implement key HR projects in the Europe region, including:
- Probation management.
- Performance evaluations.
- Talent review and leadership assessments.
4. Communication with Local Suppliers and Institutions
- Manage document exchanges and communication with local suppliers, institutions, and authorities.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of documents and maintain good relationships with external stakeholders.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with great attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English. Proficiency in German is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with HR software is a plus.
- A proactive and customer-oriented mindset with a strong sense of confidentiality and integrity.
