Intern (m/f/d) Robotics Perception & Software
The Industrial Automation and Robotic Applications Department of Agile Robots is looking for a motivated Robotics Perception & Software Intern (m/f/d). In this role, you will assist with algorithm development, dataset preparation, model training, and integration into our software stack. You help structure workflows, validate results, and ensure that vision components operate reliably within full robotic systems.
This position offers practical insights into vision-based perception, deep learning, and robotics software engineering. It is suited for students who want more than routine tasks and who want to contribute directly to building perception modules for real robotic applications.
Your Responsibilities- Vision Algorithms: Assist with camera calibration, pose estimation, and object detection methods.
- Datasets: Prepare image/point cloud datasets through preprocessing, annotation, and augmentation.
- Classical & DL Methods: Apply classical CV techniques and support training of deep learning models for perception and segmentation.
- Software Integration: Contribute to integrating vision components into our robotics software stack (Python/C++/ROS2).
- Testing & Analysis: Implement testing scripts, visualize results, and document experiments.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with software and robotics engineers to turn concepts into reliable code.
- Background: Ongoing Bachelor/Master in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related.
- Programming: Python and/or C++; practical ROS2 experience; solid software engineering habits (Git, modularity).
- Computer Vision: Understanding of camera models, feature extraction, object detection; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Mindset: Analytical, precise, eager to learn.
- Communication: Proactive, team-oriented, comfortable in English.
- DevOps: Familiarity with Docker or CI/CD workflows.
- Advanced Models: Exposure to transformer or diffusion models for vision tasks.
- Sensor Fusion: Experience with multimodal or point-cloud–based perception.
- Robotics: Previous internships or projects in robotics, automation, or visual AI.
- Competitions/Research: Publications or challenge experience (e.g., CVPR, RoboCup).
- Start: as soon as possible
- Duration: Six months of continuous full-time work.
- Place of work: Office presence; minimal possibility of working from home
