The Position Department & Team Roche’s Gene Therapy Technical Development (PTCG) function is responsible for the technical development and clinical production of breakthrough viral vector-based therapies - from early clinical phase through to market approval. Our core mission is the development of safe, innovative, and effective therapies using state-of-the-art technologies across the entire value chain. By joining us, you will become part of an expert team in Nucleic Acid Sciences and Manufacturing, focused on the development and production of plasmid DNA - a key element and starting material for cell and gene therapies. Your Tasks & Responsibilities In this role, you will focus on the generation of novel plasmid constructs as starting material for viral vector-based therapies. Your primary responsibilities will include: * Molecular Biology: Perform molecular cloning and prepare plasmid DNA for viral vector production. This includes independently executing experiments, interpreting data, and ensuring accurate documentation * Method Implementation: Drive the development and establishment of novel, cutting-edge technologies for molecular cloning and host cell engineering * Data Analysis : Analyze experimental results and present findings to the broader team Your Profile * Education: You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related life-science field * Technical Skills: You have gained hands-on experience in molecular biology (e.g., cloning techniques, DNA preparation & isolation, PCR methods, and microbial cell culture) * Communication : You possess strong English language skills (both written and spoken) * Soft Skills : You are curious, thrive in collaborative environments, and are known for your proactive, team-oriented approach * Continuous learning: You are willing to take ownership of your projects, are enthusiastic about tackling new challenges, and are highly self-motivated to find innovative solutions * Requirement: Please note that active university enrollment is a mandatory requirement for this internship Your benefits * Flexible working hours (37.5 hours/week) * Attractive recognition grant (2268 euros per month for a full-time internship > 3 months) * Discounted meal prices (- 50%) in our staff canteen * Sport Center on campus * The possibility of accommodation in the Roche Boarding House or convenient transport connections to Munich with the Roche shuttle * Online/Offline student networking events Period: According to agreement, for a period of 6 months in Penzberg.
