Intern Trainee - Modern Workplace Support

We are looking for an IT Support Intern to join our IT Modern Workplace Support team at our centrally located office in Frankfurt am Main. The Workplace Support team delivers 1st- and 2nd-level IT support to our business partners and internal employees, providing both on-site and remote assistance. This includes responding to incidents and fulfilling IT service requests submitted through our ITSM ticketing tool. In addition, the team is responsible for maintaining our on‑premises IT infrastructure across all European offices.

Duties & responsibilities

  • First and Second level end-user support to incoming incidents and requests.
  • Supporting the Joiner/Leaver process in alignment with HR.
  • Supporting the laptop enrolment and MS Windows 11, administering the MS Office 365 suite and standard desktop applications.
  • On-Site Hardware support and Asset Management.
  • Full responsibility for Frankfurt am Main employee onboarding/offboarding and for the Frankfurt office.
  • Involvment in the ITSM queue and tickets management in our JIRA service management tool.
  • Involvement in IT projects with the leadership of Modern Workplace team lead.
  • Being the main escalation point for Frankfurt support related requests and issues.
  • Assisting with workplace configurations, setup, support and replacement of notebooks, screens, cables, peripherals and various hardware.
  • Supporting end-point management (smart phones, tablets, laptops) via Intune.
  • Knowledge and Standard Operation documentation using Confluence.

Professional & personal qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience
  • Industry certifications and memberships are a plus.
  • IT Support, IT Service Desk, IT Operations or IT Specialist background and experience.
  • Training or degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience with following products and services is a plus:
    • MS Office 365 suite applications support.
    • MS 365 Administration (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
    • Experience with Intune, Azure Active Directory.
    • Windows / MacOS / iOS / Android support and troubleshooting.
    • Knowledge of ITIL and IT best practices
    • Knowledge and experience with incident management and ITSM ticketing tools
    • Experience with managing and troubleshooting network devices (Switches, Access points, Routers, etc) and understanding of Networking and Network Protocols
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels of employees.
  • Willingness to take iniative, learn new technologies and tools
  • Fluent in English and at least another EU language (written and spoken)
